This Privacy Policy describes how Eternea Chronos ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Pinned app and website (the "Service"). By using Pinned you agree to the practices below.
1. Information we collect
- Account info: email address, display name, username, and (optional) bio you provide.
- Content you create: the places you pin (name, coordinates, rating, review text, hashtags, photos) and your follow relationships.
- Location: only when you actively use the "Use my location" feature. We do not track your location in the background.
- Photos: only the photos you choose to attach to a pin.
- Authentication: if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and name as provided by them. We do not receive your password.
- Device + diagnostics: basic device info (model, OS version, app version) and crash logs to fix bugs.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the Service: showing your pins, your feed, and the people you follow.
- To enforce privacy: pins marked private are only visible to you.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
- To respond if you contact support.
3. Who can see what
- Public pins are visible to all Pinned users on the shared map and in the Discover feed.
- Private pins and pins from private accounts are visible only to you. We enforce this on our servers with strict access rules, not just in the app.
- Your username and display name are public so other users can identify you.
4. Where your data lives
Your data is stored on Google Firebase (Firestore, Cloud Storage, Authentication) in Google data centers. Firebase has its own security and privacy practices, available at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
5. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your data. We share data only with:
- Google Firebase — to host and run the Service.
- OpenStreetMap / OpenFreeMap / Nominatim — when you view the map or search for a place by name, your query is sent to their servers. No account info is shared.
- Authorities — only if required by valid legal process.
6. Children
Pinned is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Your rights
You can:
- Edit or delete any pin you created.
- Switch any pin or your whole profile to private.
- Delete your account, which removes your profile, pins, follows, and photos. Email us to request deletion.
8. Sponsored content
Some pins on the public map and in the Discover feed are paid promotions from local businesses. These are always clearly labeled as "Sponsored".
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the updated version here and update the "Last updated" date.
