Frequently asked questions
How do I create a pin?
Tap the red + button at the top right of the map. The composer opens and your current location is detected automatically. Add a title, rating, review, and optional photo, then save.
If location detection fails, you can still drop a pin by tapping anywhere on the map.
How do I add a photo to a pin?
When creating or editing a pin, tap the photo button in the composer. You can choose to take a new photo with the camera or pick one from your library. Photos are automatically optimized to save storage.
How do I change the app language?
Tap the gear icon (settings) at the top right of the map, then choose Language. Pinned currently supports English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
Can I make my pins private?
Yes. When creating a pin, you can toggle it between public (visible to everyone in the feed and on the map) and private (only visible to you). You can change this anytime by editing the pin.
How do I follow another user?
Tap any user's profile (from a pin or the feed) and tap Follow. Their public pins will then appear in your Following feed.
How do I report a pin or user?
Open any pin or user profile, tap the menu icon, and choose Report. We review all reports within 24 hours and take action on content that violates our community guidelines (spam, harassment, illegal content, etc.).
You can also Block a user from their profile — blocked users cannot see your pins or interact with you.
How do I delete my account?
Tap the gear icon (settings) at the top right, then scroll to Delete account. This action is permanent and removes all your pins, photos, and profile data from our servers within 30 days.
Is Pinned free?
Yes. Pinned is completely free to use. We don't show ads and we don't sell your data. In the future, we may offer paid promotional pins for businesses, but the core app will always remain free.
Why does the app need my location?
Pinned uses your location only to auto-fill the position when you create a new pin and to center the map on you when you open the app. Your location is never shared with other users unless you choose to drop a pin there.
You can deny location access — the app still works, you'll just need to drop pins manually.
I found a bug. What should I do?

¿Cómo creo un pin?
Toca el botón rojo + arriba a la derecha del mapa. Se abre el creador y tu ubicación se detecta automáticamente. Agrega título, calificación, reseña y opcionalmente una foto, y guarda.
Si falla la detección de ubicación, puedes soltar el pin tocando cualquier punto del mapa.
¿Cómo agrego una foto a un pin?
Al crear o editar un pin, toca el botón de foto en el creador. Puedes tomar una foto nueva con la cámara o elegir una de tu biblioteca. Las fotos se optimizan automáticamente para ahorrar espacio.
¿Cómo cambio el idioma de la app?
Toca el ícono de engranaje (configuración) arriba a la derecha del mapa y selecciona Idioma. Pinned soporta español, inglés, portugués y francés.
¿Puedo hacer mis pins privados?
Sí. Al crear un pin puedes elegir entre público (visible para todos en el feed y el mapa) o privado (solo visible para ti). Puedes cambiarlo en cualquier momento editando el pin.
¿Cómo sigo a otro usuario?
Toca el perfil de cualquier usuario (desde un pin o el feed) y toca Seguir. Sus pins públicos aparecerán en tu feed de Siguiendo.
¿Cómo reporto un pin o usuario?
Abre cualquier pin o perfil de usuario, toca el menú y elige Reportar. Revisamos todos los reportes en menos de 24 horas y actuamos sobre contenido que viola nuestras normas de comunidad (spam, acoso, contenido ilegal, etc.).
También puedes Bloquear a un usuario desde su perfil — los usuarios bloqueados no pueden ver tus pins ni interactuar contigo.
¿Cómo elimino mi cuenta?
Toca el ícono de engranaje (configuración) arriba a la derecha, baja hasta Eliminar cuenta. Esta acción es permanente y elimina todos tus pins, fotos y datos de perfil de nuestros servidores en un plazo de 30 días.
¿Pinned es gratis?
Sí. Pinned es completamente gratis. No mostramos anuncios y no vendemos tus datos. En el futuro podríamos ofrecer pins promocionales pagos para negocios, pero la app principal siempre será gratis.
¿Por qué la app necesita mi ubicación?
Pinned usa tu ubicación solo para llenar automáticamente la posición cuando creas un pin nuevo y para centrar el mapa en ti al abrir la app. Tu ubicación nunca se comparte con otros usuarios a menos que decidas dejar un pin ahí.
Puedes negar el acceso a la ubicación — la app sigue funcionando, solo tendrás que soltar los pins manualmente.
